I Love Sweaters

I am obsessed with sweaters these days. All I want for Christmas is sweaters! But of course not ordinary sweaters, though I still like some of those, I really want unique ones that have animal patterns or as my German friend says "Nordic" patterned. Modcloth has some awesome ones, but who knew sweaters could cost so much. And not just am I obsessed with unique sweaters, they are also really in right now with that whole hipster look. Not that I would want to be a hipster, it's just that everyone else wants to be and I admire some of their fashion choices. Something I beg of you to stay away from this winter season are ponchos. Just because they sell them in stores does not mean they you should buy one. Ever since ponchos were in around 2003 (yeah I know I was only in like 2nd grade) I never thought that they looked good on people. I will hopefully post again before Christmas, so c'ya later!

Should be doing homework...bah school!

I made this during the summer.  It is composed of different sheets of paper from my notebooks in 10th grade with cootie catchers on the edges and water color drippings.

That's Wallie admiring my artwork.

This is at my school.

v These two ^ are also at my school.

Here are some pictures for you!  I took them all and made that piece of artwork myself.  I hope to soon post about winter fashion and what I think is going to be in and what's already in, what may be in but just isn't for everybody, and that stuff that's in but I totally disagree with it.  C'ya later!

It's still summer....uhhh

So it's that time of the summer when I don't really have anything to do for awhile and I've done most of what I am going to do this summer. I went to the beach and I went to 2 different camps. I now am starting to miss school, but I have to keep reminding myself to enjoy summer and how terrible I felt the last week of school and how stressful school can be, but I can't wait to to see friends again and try out for the play and just start a fresh new year full of wonder. But it's summer and I have to focus and I have to read my summer reading and do the assignment that goes with it.
List of Summer Reading:
1. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
2. Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi
3. Strength in What Remains by Tracy Kidder
So if any of you followers out there want to read along with me and leave comments about the books on my blog you are free to do so (just keep them to something you wouldn't mind your mom hearing). All of those books are at least 100 pages, but The Devil in the White City is almost 400 pages (just about 10 pages off). I am not too sure how I am going to finish them all by the beginning of the school year especially since I have only read about 116 pages out of T.D. in the W.C. I better go and read some more and enjoy my summer. I hope all you out there are enjoying yours too. C'ya Later!

IT"S SUMMER! And where can I find some inexpensive floral pants?

What time is it? Summer time! It's our vacation! Or at least it is for those who get the summer off which includes most students at high schools.  I have only been off for about a week now, but I am soooo glad it's summer.  I get to relax & do fun things, like going to the beach, camp, hanging out with friends, and other stuff.  I also get more frustrated at the silly things in life though fashion is not that silly, but not as serious as homework. I have been really frustrated lately, because I am not able to find any floral pants anywhere for less than $60 (way too much for me). And I am talking about those sort of floral jeans, but there not quite jeans, but not khakis either. I don't want flimsy pants with a floral pattern or leggings with a floral pattern, I want floral patterned jeans! But I don't want to sound like a spoiled brat or anything, it would just be nice if there were some for a good price. Well H&M had some for a good price for awhile, but I did not get down to a store (I do not live near any H&M's) until they were all sold out.  Now I am on the quest for reasonably priced floral patterned jeans. I've checked Amazon.com, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, ModCloth.com, and google. I just can't seem to find anything in my price range. I see them all over the fashion magazines and usually the magazines give you at least one cheap option when they are showing off a type of product, but they're all at least $80 in the magazines. Good tips for the summer: Before wearing a dress you might have bought in the winter  or even the fall and you think it will be fine for the summer 1st: check to see if it has a summery pattern or colors (sorry but most purples and browns don't go with summer), 2nd: Wear it outside for about 10 minutes on the day you're planning on wearing the dress and make sure it breathes and actually is comfortable in the heat (pouffy dresses with the netting underneath can get pretty hot, even if they're strapless), and 3rd: Is it easy to wash? Because many days of summer you are outside either near dirt and nature or in a place that is very warm or extremely hot (which can make all of us sweat even if we are women) and have a risk of getting the dress dirty. I recently wore a butterfly dress from Anthropology that has a butterfly print, it's strapless, and it comes to my knees, but it was quite warm.  I  unfortunately found this out by wearing it to my sister's graduation that was OUTSIDE and even though it was in the morning, it was still very hot. I did not take any of this advice.  It was cute, but I think it was something for more of an indoor summer occasion than outdoor. These are some of my friends and I at the graduation. The two girls on the far ends had graduated that day (neither one of them are my sister), it is uniform that girls wear white at their graduation at my school instead of the caps and gowns and guys just wear suits, but sometimes a brave guy (or just a humorous guy will wear a white suit). Please tell me if you find some good priced floral jeans! I'll c'ya later!

Spring, Spring, Spring!

Oh I just love the Spring! Well I just especially like the in between seasons (Fall & Spring), because they are not to hot (well for the most part) or too cold.  They are just right, they are those days you long for in the smoldering sun of Summer or the days when snow is seeping into your ripped/not fully waterproof boots on the coldest day of Winter.  The breeze pushes against your hair welcoming you back into the all too familiar green wonderland.  Though somedays it can get very hot in Alabama during the Spring it is probably one of our better seasons where the weather follows the rules.  So time to figure out what to wear in this cool heat.  I cannot say it enough, but keep away from the dark colors.  It's Spring, so match the rest of the world (well the northern hemisphere) and wear a nice pink or green or yellow or even a classy looking orange and I guarantee you it will make you feel a little bit better throughout the day.  Cotton is also a nice touch for the temperature and flowy (I am not sure if that's a word).  But please don't wear those, what do you call them? Oh yeah Maxi dresses. I am sorry, but very few people can pull those off and those who can are at the beach, not walking around school or work or wherever. In my opinion I think they are ugly. They just look like a swimsuit coverup that you ended up wearing too long, because you are lazy. Instead get a dress with more style, character, and attitude. Something that reflects who you are. Ok so going back to colors the new black and white is now orange and pink. I am seeing a wearing it everywhere. Who knew they would look so great together. Whether it's a top or dress or skirt it will look cute with something yellow, red (if you do add red to the combination try to limit it), or white. (look at the stripe pattern below) Well I have to go and study! I hope to update earlier than last time even though no one seems to read my blog, but thats ok. C'ya later!

I guess I am still getting the hang of this blogging thing

The last two posts that I wrote I accidentally deleted right after I worked on them for at least half an hour.  So it's February right now and I am guessing everybody (well everyone in a relationship (not me)) is looking for that special outfit to wear on that special date.  May I suggest a few things?  Sequins, they really make you shine and also there are tons of cute (but maybe uncomfortable) sequined covered dresses out there.  And most of them look classy and not silly or tacky.  But what did you say?  Not looking for something that extravagant? How 'bout a nice vintage inspired dress?  There are plenty of dresses out there that are 1940's pin up girl inspired that look nice, but can be casual and don't look too much like a slut. Mainly because a slut back then is a flirt now.  Hmmm, shoes...I would say something black. But if your wearing your little black dress go crazy by wearing some neon colored heels that maybe, yeah, you might only wear that one night.  And please stay away from the platform shoes on Valentines day.  They might be coming back, but not for the day of love.  Don't mess with your hair too much.  Leave it down.  Guys like it that way (guys can run their fingers through it better than your usual poof).  Also they don't care what you do to your hair, they like you for who you are (but they do like how you dress up sometimes).  Well I gotta go.  I hope everyone has their own nice type of Valentines day.  Whether you spend it with your girl/boyfriend or wife/husband or that girl/guy you just met or wearing black because you hate valentines day that much. So C'ya later!

Life must go, mustn't it?

This is Wallie.

I don't know if mustn't is a real word, but I used it, so who cares!  Well I guess the reason for the title of my post is mainly that I just didn't have the best of days today, because we got our grades back and I knew I didn't do well last semester, but I still get really upset.  Well whatever with that!  It's January 2012!  The year the world is going to end!  Just like Y2K.  Yeah, I don't believe in that mumbo jumbo.  I mean who started looking at the mayan calendar now?  I never thought it applied to me or knew of it's existence until 2 years ago.  One sad note is that 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the shipwrecking of the Titanic.  I am fascinated by the Titanic and its story (especially because I love history and the early 1900's).  In memory or honor of this anniversary James Cameron is re-showing his movie "Titanic" in theaters in April (the month the actual Titanic sunk).  I think it will also be 3D and remastered to look better.  My opinion though is that the movie does not need to be 3D.  There are too many 3D movies out there already and what are they going to make look especially 3D?  The people jumping off the ship to their icy deaths?  I don't know, but I just don't think 3D is needed.  But I will probably go see it in theaters anyway, because I love that movie.  Well I need to go to bed since it is a school night. C'ya Later!
